God
the Fount-of-All-Mercy
the Ever-Merciful
I swear by this land
and you live in this land
by the parent and the child
We created humans
in trouble
do they think no-one
has power over them?
saying
"I have used
enormous wealth"
do they think
no-one has seen them?
have We not given them
two eyes
and a tongue and two lips
and guided them
on the two clear ways?
but they have not braved
the steep climb
and what will tell you
what the steep climb is?
the freeing of a slave
giving food
on a day of hunger
to an orphan
or close family
or to the poor in misery
so they become
people who believe
and urge each other
to be patient
and urge each other
to be merciful
those are the
Companions of the Right
and those who are
ungrateful for Our Signs
they are the
Companions of the Left
over them is a Fire
closing in
